Boulder Pad Hire
We offer boulder pad hire for climbers visiting Dartmoor National Park. If you are travelling to Dartmoor and don't want to take your bouldering pads, you can now hire bouldering pads from us.
Boulder Pads Available to Borrow
We can loan the following boulder pads to you. All prices are per boulder pad, per a 24 hour loan period.
Alpkit Mujo Hinge Style Bouldering Pad: £20/day per pad
Other Kit Available to Hire (24hr Period)
Chalk Bag: £2/day
Climbing Shoes: £5/day
Rucksack: £10/day
Walking Boots: £20/day
We require bookings in advance; we have a limited stock of boulder pads, and during peak seasons we sometimes run out of boulder pads to loan. If you need a large quantity of boulder pads, please give us plenty of notice so that we can be prepared. When hiring boulder pads from us we will send you an electronic loan agreement to sign and payment is also taken through this electronic loan agreement.
Payments taken when booking and are non-refundable and card details must be provided as security when collecting boulder pads from us, these details are destroyed when the boulder pads are returned - damage and loss of equipment will be charge to this card as outlined below*. We require your name, address and contact details if we need to get in touch and you will also have to agree to our kit hire policy which will be outlined in the loan agreement..
Boulder pads can be collected from 6:30am and will be loaned for the agreed period, upon return of the boulder pad we will check the condition - damaged or lost boulder pads can result in charges to security provided*. Boulder pads returned beyond the loan period will be charged for the additional days beyond the agreed return date. Boulder pads are collected collected from our postal address in Newton Abbot, Devon.
* Boulder pad charges for damage, loss and non-return - £40 will be charged to security provided for excessive damage, rips, broken straps or similar damage that can be repaired by Climb Devon or a repair service provider. Boulder pads that are irreparable, lost or not returned will have £200 charged to security provided for a replacement. All other items such as climbing shoes or guidebooks are charged at £40 per item for damage/loss/non-return requiring a replacement.
** Climb Devon can not be held responsible for injury caused by misuse of boulder pads or other climbing injuries.
*** This is an extra service we offer and not Climb Devon’s primary purpose, we will always provide equipment to our own clients first.
**** All loans are subject to availability on a first-come-first-served basis.
***** Due to the requirements of personal protective equipment, loan items are limited to the list given above.
