Ever looked at the famous granite tors on Dartmoor and wished you could climb them? This is your chance. Whether you are a total beginner or an indoor climber wanting to feel real rock for the first time, our 'Intro to Rock' day is the perfect way to take it outside.
Under the expert guidance of James, a fully qualified Rock Climbing Development Instructor (RCDI), you will learn the ropes in a relaxed, zero-ego environment. We keep our group sizes strictly small (maximum 1:4) so you get the bespoke attention you need to build confidence, learn new skills, and actually enjoy the process without feeling rushed.
No experience is necessary, and all technical equipment is provided. Just bring your sense of adventure.

Traditional (trad) climbing is incredibly rewarding, but it demands solid safety systems, technical knowledge, and a cool head. This course is designed to safely transition you from a competent indoor climber or outdoor second into a confident, independent trad leader.
Running across a full weekend (Saturday and Sunday), this immersive format allows you to build momentum, locking in technical ground-school systems on day one before immediately putting them to the test on day two. With a strict 1:2 ratio, you are guaranteed intense, close-quarters coaching from James, a fully qualified Rock Climbing Development Instructor (RCDI).

When you book a private day, you secure the exclusive time of James, a fully qualified Rock Climbing Development Instructor (RCDI). We bypass the standard syllabus and build a custom itinerary specifically designed to target your weaknesses, elevate your strengths, or simply provide an unforgettable, private day out on the rock.
Our £280 flat day rate covers one or two climbers. Come solo for intense 1-on-1 coaching, or bring a climbing partner and split the cost—the choice is yours.

Backed by a PGCert in Outdoor Learning and a BA Hons in Outdoor Education, my passion isn't just climbing - it's teaching.
