​Ditch the gym and start your Sunday the right way. The Climb & Coffee Social is our monthly community session designed for adult climbers who want to get outside, meet new partners, and enjoy Dartmoor’s granite without the pressure of a formal course.

​Whether you’ve never touched real rock before or you’re an indoor climber looking for a relaxed outdoor crew, this is for you.

​We provide the ropes, the safety, the expert instruction, and—most importantly—the coffee. You just turn up and climb.

​Whether you’ve never touched real rock before or you’re an indoor climber looking for a relaxed outdoor crew, this is for you.

​We provide the ropes, the safety, the expert instruction, and—most importantly—the coffee. You just turn up and climb.

How it works:

  • The Climbing: We set up top-ropes on some of Dartmoor’s best routes. You get as much climbing as you want, with a qualified instructor (RCDI) on hand to give you beta, movement coaching, and safety tips.

  • The Coffee: This isn't instant coffee in a plastic cup.

    • At The Dewerstone, we brew fresh coffee right at the crag.

    • At Hound Tor, your session includes a barista coffee from the local van.

  • The Community: Meet like-minded climbers, find future belay partners, and enjoy a Sunday morning in the fresh air.

Course Details (The "Nuts & Bolts")

  • Duration: 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM

  • Group Size: Max 6 climbers (Relaxed and social)

  • Locations: Hound Tor, Dartmoor

  • Prerequisites: None. Suitable for total beginners and experienced indoor climbers alike (Ages 18+ only).

What's Included:

  • 3.5 hours of guided climbing with an expert instructor.

  • All safety equipment (harnesses, helmets, ropes).

  • Freshly brewed coffee (or tea/hot chocolate!).

  • Movement coaching and "beta" on the routes.
