What Will My Day Look Like?
We design our days to maximize your time on the rock without completely destroying your fingertips on the sharp Dartmoor granite! Here is what you can expect:
10:00 AM - The Meet & Brew: We meet at the Hound Tor car park to start the day right. We'll grab a hot drink from the iconic local coffee van while we do introductions, check the weather, and chat about the day.
10:30 AM - The Walk-in & Setup: A short, scenic walk to the base of the tor. James will get you fully kitted out with a professional-grade helmet and harness, followed by a hands-on safety briefing.
11:00 AM - Morning Session: The fun begins! You will be climbing on a "top-rope" (the absolute safest way to learn). We focus on getting comfortable with the friction of the granite, basic movement, and learning how to safely belay your climbing partners.
01:15 PM - Lunch: A proper, relaxed break at the crag to rest the forearms, refuel, and take in the Dartmoor views.
02:00 PM - Afternoon Session: Back on the rock. We will tackle a few different climbs to push your confidence, culminating in an exciting abseil—leaning back over the edge and lowering yourself safely to the ground.
04:00 PM - Wrap Up: We pack down and walk back to the cars, finishing the day on a massive high note while you still have plenty of energy left!
