About Climb Devon
What is Climb Devon? Climb Devon is an outdoor adventure company run by Jamie M. Langler, a fully qualified Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Development Instructor, and Development Coach. We offer a range of courses in rock climbing, hill walking, and navigation in Devon and other stunning locations across the UK.
Who will be my instructor? Most courses are run by Jamie himself. In the event that he is unavailable, we only use nationally qualified and experienced leaders, instructors, and coaches who are members of the Mountain Training Association. All our instructors have valid outdoor first aid training and an enhanced DBS check.
What is your mission? Our mission is to inspire, enable, and develop people in walking, climbing, and mountaineering. We are dedicated to providing safe, enjoyable, and high-quality instruction to help you become an independent and confident adventurer.

What kind of courses do you offer? We offer a wide variety of courses for all skill levels, including:
Rock Climbing Introduction (2 and 5-day courses)
Learn to Lead Climb (2 and 5-day courses)
Trad Climbing Development (3-day course)
Basic and Advanced Navigation (1-day courses)
Classic Dartmoor Walks (2-day course)
Dartmoor Wild Camping (2-day course)
Development Coaching (in-person and remote)
Do I need any prior experience? Many of our courses are suitable for complete beginners. For example, the "Rock Climbing Introduction" and "Basic Navigation" courses do not require any previous experience. However, some of the more advanced courses, like "Learn to Lead Climb" and "Trad Climbing Development," have prerequisites. Please check the individual course descriptions for more details.
What if the course dates don't work for me? We offer private and bespoke courses that can be tailored to your specific needs and schedule. You can book a private course for yourself or a group. Please contact us at info@climbdevon.com to discuss your requirements.
Where do the courses take place? Most of our courses are held in Devon, including Dartmoor and the South Devon coastline. However, we can also arrange courses in other beautiful areas of the UK, such as the Lake District, Snowdonia, the Brecon Beacons, and the Scottish Highlands.

How do I book a course? You can book a course directly through our website. Simply navigate to the course you are interested in and follow the booking instructions. For private courses, please contact us via email.

Safety and Qualifications
Are your instructors qualified? Yes, all our instructors are highly qualified and experienced. Our lead instructor, Jamie M. Langler, is a Mountain Training qualified Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Development Instructor, and Development Coach.
What safety measures do you have in place? Safety is our top priority. We believe in the safe enjoyment of all outdoor activities. Our instructors are all first-aid trained, and we adhere to strict safety standards and instructor-to-participant ratios to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
Do I need my own equipment? We provide all the necessary technical equipment for our courses. However, you will need to bring your own personal clothing and footwear suitable for the activity.
